Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel were killed, and two police officers were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh 's Naxal-affected Narayanpur district on Saturday, officials reported.
The incident took place near Mohandi village in the Abujhmad region as the security forces were returning from a Naxal search operation, according to Inspector General of Police (IG) Bastar, P Sundarraj.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the ITBP personnel had been injured in the explosion, triggered by Naxalites. They were evacuated from the forest later.
Security forces have launched a follow-up operation in response to the attack. Further details are awaited as investigations continue.
